Consultation paper released

19 Mar 2018

The Optometry Board of Australia (the Board) has published a consultation paper on the draft revised continuing professional development registration standard (and related guidelines). A template CPD portfolio is also included.

Public consultation commences today and will close on 4 May 2018.

The six Boards involved in reviewing core registration standards undertook research and benchmarking to inform the development of the revised standards. The Optometry Board of Australia is reviewing its CPD registration standard and related guidelines as part of this multi-profession review.  A high level summary of the research and benchmarking, conducted from a regulatory risk perspective for the six Boards, was used to inform the core registration standards (continuing professional development, professional indemnity insurance and recency of practice). The research summary is available to download.

The consultation paper is available under Current consultations, and the Board invites feedback from practitioners, stakeholders and the community.

You can provide your feedback in a written submission to optomconsultation@ahpra.gov.au and may choose to use the Board’s feedback form.
