The following templates are sample records that you may choose to use to record requirements of the Optometry Board of Australia’s continuing professional development registration standard.
You may choose one of these or you may decide to develop an alternative record.
Regardless of the format you use to record your CPD activities, you must ensure that you meet requirement 8 and 9 of the registration standard.
Before completing this template you should read the Board’s CPD registration standard, policy and guidelines to ensure you understand the requirements. These are available on the Board’s website.
The registration standard outlines the number of points that may be claimed for each type of CPD activity. Each optometrist must complete a minimum of 40 points of CPD activities per year. The standard also lists the requirements for training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and those who hold an endorsement for scheduled medicines.
In order to determine compliance with the registration standard, the Board may, at any time, request a registered optometrist provide their CPD records for audit by the Board.
You should monitor your CPD point total and sub-totals regularly to ensure you meet your CPD requirements.
